Pioneer XDP 100R: High-resolution audio player with Android 5.1 OS Launched

Onkyo & Pioneer has officially introduced the high-resolution audio player named Pioneer XDP 100R runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and has been listed on Amazon US for $1,027, to give very tough competition to the popular High Resolution Music Players from Astell & Kern or Sony.

This is the first player high resolution audio player from Pioneer. Its spokesman said that the XDP 100R will be for those who unsatisfied with their smartphones sound quality. The XDP 100R running on Android, comes equipped with a 4.7-inch display with HD 720 x 1080 pixels resolution, it support multiple formats and hi-res audio quality. The device packs a 32GB of internal memory which can be further expandable via MicroSD card up to 288GB – (internal storage 32GB + micro SD slot x 2 installed)

The Pioneer XDP 100R High Resolution Digital Audio Player comes with separate audio processing to avoid signal interference and greatly improving sound quality. It looks very boxy; has a square design very similar to the super expensive Astell & Kern audio player. The housing is made ​​of monolithic aluminum along with top and bottom part of the base and comes with a detachable bumper to protect device against accidental fall and also use as a self-stand. There are three physical buttons located on the left edge of the device while a circular volume jog on the right side.

Because it is a high quality audio player so XDP 100R supports variety of audio formats, from FLAC, MQA, ALAC to DSD 11.2MHz. Inside the device, there are two different processors, one for handling common tasks of Android and one is specially dedicated to eliminate the noise. In addition, to achieve a clear power supply to the DAC and AMP in the “CLOSED LOOP design”, prevent mixing of noise.

Additionally, there is 32GB of native memory along with 2 MicroSD memory card slot supports up to 128 GB to store high quality music files. The battery life can be last up to 10 hours and up to 16 hours of music playback time, according to the Pioneer.
