After a very successful launch of the Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Edition smartphones, company has added another budget smartphone with high specs in Mate 9 series – the Huawei Mate 9 Lite. The device is now listed on the company’s official website without any pricing and availability details, but specifications suggest it will be the budgetary device in the Mate 9 series.
The Huawei Mate 9 Lite features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, along with 2.5D curved glass display on front. It is powered by a Octa-core Kirin 655 ( 4 x 2.1GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) 16nm processor with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. The device packs in 3GB of RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 256GB with the help of microSD card slot, slightly low to when compared to Huawei Mate 9 Specs with Kirin 960 chipset.
On the camera front, the Mate 9 Lite also comes with a dual rear camera system including a 12-megapixel autofocus camera sensor with 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF, LED flash, and a 2-megapixel secondary camera for capturing depth information. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide lens to capture a wide group selfies and high quality video chatting.

Compared to other Mate 9 comes with a 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensors with Leica branding, while the Mate 9 Lite will eliminate Leica sensors. The handset also comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear panel to unlock the device quickly.
The handset runs Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs a 3340mAh battery. It has a Hybird SIM card slot on board along with 4G VoLTE connectivity, apart from 4G includes 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, microUSB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio connectivity options. It measures 150.9 x 76.2 x 8.2mm and weighs 162 grams. The device will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver color options.
