Huawei Mate 9 Pro with Front Fingerprint Sensor Announced

Huawei Mate 9 Pro has been officially launched in China today along with the new Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Porsche design were launched just a few days back in Germany. It also comes with a dual Leica camera system and Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box as Mate 9 and Porsche design variants. The handset is available in Space Gray, Black, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Ceramic White and Mocha Brown color variants. It will go on sale from December 15th in China. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a 5.5-inch dual Curved display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution that can translate a pixel density of 498ppi. The handset is powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 960 (Quad 2.4 GHz + Quad 1.8 GHz) processor with IntelliSense i6 sensor hub along with Mali G71 MP8 GPU. Camera features are also similar to Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Porsche design such as a dual 20-megapixel (monochrome) and a 12-megapixel (RGB) Leica camera system at rear with f/2.2 aperture, Laser AF, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and dual-tone LED flash. It can also able to record 4K videos. It uses Huawei’s in-house ISP for post processing the images and comes with Hybrid Zoom that features 2x magnification. For selfie, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for wide selfies and video calling.

But one of the biggest differences on Mate 9 Pro is a placement of fingerprint sensor when compared to other two Mate 9 series phones. The fingerprint sensor is moved from back to front, now its embedded into the physical Home button. Huawei Mate 9
