Google Home Hub Smart Display with Assistant

The high-quality image renders and there is a complete technical specification of the most interesting Google Home Hub Smart Display will have a 7-inch display and the 15-watt rear speaker. The design is basically consistent with what has already been proposed by other Google Home devices; in particular, the speaker’s cladding is very similar to that of Home, Home Max, and Home Mini. It is not equipped with a front camera.

The device will be compatible with a large number of smart home products, in the first the security cameras and Nest thermostats. The smart display will allow new interactions: for example, we can ask the device to show us the video feed of the CCTV camera at the entrance or in the children’s room. It has a volume rocker, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an ambient light and color sense, and it weighs in at 480 grams.

The Voice Match service will also be supported, which will allow Assistant to identify all family members and thus allow multi-user interface.

It seems that Google has a lot of confidence in the product: it has already ordered the production of 3 million units for the Christmas shopping season. Unfortunately, we lack details on the price, we hope to find out more on October 9th.
