Beoplay P6 is the new portable Bluetooth speaker designed by the Danish Cecilie Manz. The product measures 170 x 130 x 68 mm and weighs 1 kilogram. The outer shell is made of premium materials including a pearl blasted aluminum grill and on the side, there is a leather strap that facilitates transport. The speaker is IP54 certified and therefore is designed to be resistant to water splashes and dust. The interface is inspired by the Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 6000 audio system.
This new Bang & Olufsen portable Bluetooth speaker comes with a simple press and play buttons are integrated into the aluminum housing, allow you to adjust the volume, manage Bluetooth connectivity, turn the speaker On / Off and special one touch button to access the smart features like Voice Assistant.
When connecting the P6 to an iOS or Android smartphone, you can use the one touch button to activate Siri or Google Assistant. You can also accept calls (so hands-free calling) or switch to the Tone Touch mode, which uses the Beoplay app to customize the listening experience.
Inside the aluminum body, there are a woofer and two other transducers, all managed by dedicated Class D amplifiers (36W for the woofer and 30W for each of the other two). The sound is spread to 360 degrees. The power is supplied through a 2,600mAh battery, sufficient to guarantee battery life up to 16 hours. For charging, which takes about 3 hours, a USB Type-C port is used. The connection to the sources is via Bluetooth 4.2, also useful for pairing two P6 in a stereo configuration.
Beoplay P6 price has been set at $399.00 / £349.00, it is now available to pre-order through Amazon stores and will be available from April 23 in USA and May 2, 2018, for UK territories.
