Cosina has made an exciting announcement about the Voigtlander Ultron 27mm F2, a prime lens specifically designed for the Fujifilm X-mount, emphasizing its thin, lightweight, and fast qualities. Earlier this year, it was showcased at CP+ 2023 in Japan.
Boasting a 40mm full-frame equivalent focal length and a wide f/2 aperture, the lens maintains a compact size, measuring just 23.5mm in length and weighing a mere 120g. The company proudly asserts that the optical system of this lens has been meticulously optimized and tailored exclusively for Fujifilm X-mount cameras, eliminating the need for reliance on camera software to correct optical aberrations or distortion.
The Ultron 27mm F2 comprises six elements in four groups and features a 10-blade aperture with a range from f/2 to f/22. It can focus as close as 0.25 meters, and its maximum magnification ratio is 1:6.7. The lens accepts 43mm front filters and, though fully manual, it can establish an electronic connection with the camera to transfer EXIF data. Additionally, when used with compatible cameras, it pairs seamlessly with Fujifilm’s built-in image stabilization.
