ViewSonic has unveiled a new portable laser projector called M10, boasting an estimated brightness output of 2200 RGB laser lumens. The manufacturer clarifies the distinction from ANSI lumens in this PDF.

In essence, the ANSI value for laser projectors lacks significance, partly due to the Helmholtz-Kohlrausch effect. Hence, we introduce the RGB laser lumen specification, determining it by multiplying the ratio of certain ANSI lumen values of a device by the ANSI lumen value of a reference lamp projector.

Regrettably, ViewSonic provides only the RGB laser lumens for the M10 and not ANSI lumens. The new RGB laser projection system features a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), supports HDR, including HLG, and achieves a 10-bit color depth. It can project an image size ranging from 40 to 180 inches, with a distance of 1.06 to 4.78 m from a screen wall.

As per the specifications, 100 inches are feasible from a distance of 2.66 m. The light source’s lifespan is 20,000 hours (Normal) or 30,000 hours (Eco), the operating volume is 26 dB (Eco) or 29 dB (Normal), and the typical power consumption is 51.3 watts.

Additionally, it promises a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1, a 7-watt Harman Kardon speaker, autofocus, a remote control, and horizontal and vertical keystone correction.

The interface selection encompasses Bluetooth 4.2, HDMI 2.0, USB-A 2.0, and WLAN 802.11n (5 GHz). Interested users can stream content from compatible mobile devices to the projector via Wi-Fi and screen mirroring. The ViewSonic M10 weighs 1.36 kg and claims to cover 100 percent of the Rec. 2020 color space.
