Synology has announced the release of the SAT5200 3.84TB solid-state drive. According to the manufacturer, the 2.5 SSD is designed for Synology users requiring high capacity and reliable storage arrays, all the while sustaining high-performance low-latency operations for mission-critical work. The new SSD is said to feature enterprise-grade reliability and durability.
They are equipped with a SATA 6gbps interface, so the manufacturer does not even provide data transfer rates. When it comes to performance, drives designed specifically for Synology systems deliver up to 98,000 IOPS in 4K random access read speed and 67,000 IOPS in write speed. The advantages of 2.5 SSD include comprehensive protection, including protection against data loss in the event of a power failure. Integration with Synology DSM provides enhanced drive life analysis. The SAT5200 is claimed to have 1.3 DWPDs over a five-year warranty period.
The Synology SAT5200 SATA SSD offers stable I/O performance while reducing the latency of critical services and applications. It is built to handle mixed and intensive 24/7 workloads without compromising on endurance, providing a streamlined storage experience on Synology systems with minimal service disruptions. It has dedicated capacitors to provide sufficient power to flush data-in-flight into NAND flash during a power loss event, further preventing data corruption.
