Sony is experimenting High Resolution mode on the Sony Alpha A7 II in a way that the Olympus E-M5 mark II 16MP to 40MP sensor.
This feature works on 5-axis stabilization sensor technology on the Sony A7 II: The sensor will take multiple pictures in a row, then the final stacked and processed for the high-resolution photos. Olympus calls this technology a “Sensor shift”. Sources said that this technology will help Sony A7 II to capture 48.9MP JPEG images from the current 24MP sensor.
We will continue to wait for the new enhancements in Sony’s next firmware update for Alpha A7 II.
