Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A25 5G, a mid-range device that belongs to the Galaxy A Series. This model brings significant improvements in experience and performance compared to its predecessor. Let’s explore its features.

Design

The Galaxy A25 5G boasts a beautiful square design with a flat front and back. Its unique embossed border design, called Key Island, provides a firm yet comfortable grip with its four rounded edges.

Available in four color options (Personality Gold, Fantasy Blue, Optimistic Blue, and Black), our hands-on version of the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G is in Black. The back has a slightly glossy coating, which creates a stunning effect when tilting the device under different lighting angles.

While the back has a checkered pattern, it remains smooth, resulting in some fingerprints during use. Dark colors like black make fingerprints more visible, while light colors make them less noticeable.

Following the trend set by the Galaxy S23 Series, the Galaxy A25 5G adopts a floating rear camera design. Unlike a camera module that divides the back into two panels, the lenses are directly placed on the back, creating a seamless design.

The front design of Samsung’s low-cost models, including the Galaxy A25 5G, has not undergone significant improvements. While the front might look sleek when turned off, users may be a bit startled when they turn it on.

The front features a “water drop” design with a slightly thick screen border, especially at the bottom. Although not aesthetically pleasing, this design offers users a comfortable space to use without the worry of accidentally touching the screen.

The edges are square with a rough finish but have a slight curve to ensure a comfortable grip. The manufacturer refers to the embossed and shaped islands, which are the volume up and down keys on the back and the power button, as Key Island.

The power button and volume up and down keys are located on the right side. The left side houses the SIM tray. The bottom edge features the 3.5mm audio jack, mic hole, USB Type-C port, and speaker strip. The top edge is relatively empty, with only one secondary mic.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G boasts an Infinity U Super AMOLED screen with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ resolution, a scanning frequency of up to 120Hz, and a brightness of 1000 nits.

Based on AMOLED technology, this screen delivers impressive color reproduction, high resolution, increased brightness, and reduced sunlight reflection while consuming less electricity.

The screen offers colors that are pleasing to the eyes without being overly bright. The upgraded scanning frequency of 120Hz ensures smooth usage, while the high brightness makes it easy to use the device outdoors.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G runs on an Exynos 1280 processor and offers options of 6GB or 8GB of RAM, along with 128GB of internal memory. The phone comes pre-installed with the OneUI 6.0 user interface, based on the Android 14 operating system.

Samsung has announced support for up to 4 operating system updates and 5 years of security updates, making it longer than other products in the same segment. This ensures that the device always has the latest software improvements and features, enhancing stability and operating efficiency.

In benchmark tests, the device achieved impressive results, scoring 439,719 points in the Antutu Benchmark test, 957 points in the single-core test, and 2039 points in the multi-core test of Geekbench.

This level of performance is robust for the segment and enables the device to handle daily tasks and popular games like League of Legends: Wild Rift and PUBG Mobile with ease.

Camera

At the back of the Galaxy A25 5G, you’ll find a trio of cameras, including a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP super wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The camera cluster is equipped with optical anti-shake technology, enhancing stability and accuracy.

Quickly experiencing the camera, we found that the image quality is quite impressive, especially in the afternoon when sunlight is diminishing. The camera handles backlight situations well and delivers high detail and well-balanced colors.

The macro camera, with its 2MP resolution, may not offer the same level of detail as the main camera.

Battery

With a 5000mAh capacity, the Galaxy A25 5G promises a long usage time. It also supports fast charging at 25W. However, please note that the box does not include a charger, so users will need to purchase one separately.
