Roland launches V-160HD Streaming Video Switcher with FHD Broadcasting

Roland launches the V-160HD Streaming Video Mixer, a new addition to its respected V line of multi-channel HD mixers, and the first to integrate streaming capabilities. Roland V-160HD allows you to display Full HD images for theatrical audiences thanks to full SDI and HDMI connectivity, and simultaneously stream via USB-C on the popular platforms of the Web.

The new Roland video switcher features an eight-layer video effects generator, 40-track audio mixer, and PTZ camera control, plus next-generation cue management and automation that make your production tasks easier live. It is compact, portable, and easy to use, combines the rugged hardware necessary for worry-free live productions and the streaming capabilities typically provided by computers.

Roland V-160HD can easily mix eight HDMI sources and eight SDI sources in Full HD, even with different frame rates and color space. And with Scalers built into four of the HDMI inputs, you can easily connect computers, tablets, smartphones, game consoles, and even older devices in 4: 3. Seven outputs in total – three HDMI, three SDI, and one USB-C – are available for sending images to Program Displays, Auxiliary Monitors, Producer Multiview Displays, Streaming Software, Recorders, and more.

There are 30 preset memories and the powerful effects generator combine to allow smooth switching from one Scene to another, synchronizing the transition of all the layers of the composition on the Program output. The 100 macros go even further by allowing you to design and launch complex action lists with the touch of a button, including switches, DSK On / Off, audio mix settings, PTZ camera movements, and more. Up to 1000 steps can be recorded in this sequencer, each including presets and macros. Once the Cues have been programmed into the Sequencing List, they can be triggered in order during the event using the Next button on the front panel.

The V-160HD has 40-track digital mixer that lets you mix signals from 16 video inputs, USB-C, mics, and line-type devices connected to two balanced XLR and stereo RCA combo inputs. It is also possible to wirelessly retrieve music or other sounds from a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. It is also compatible with many PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras from Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, and Avonic, as well as VISCA compatible LAN PTZ cameras. You can use up to 16 PTZ cameras from different brands simultaneously.
