Rokinon 75mm f1.8 budget telephoto lens for Fujifilm X

Rokinon has introduced the new AF 75mm F1.8 X autofocus lens for Fujifilm X mount mirrorless cameras. The telephoto lens has a compact and lightweight housing and is designed for APS-C sensors, and provides a field of view of about 21.9°. The available minimum focusing distance is 69 cm.

Unlike full-frame cameras, where photographers use 75mm lenses for portraits and fashion photography, on APS-C cameras, a 75mm focal length will be equivalent to 112.5mm. The manufacturer claims that these optics will be ideal for shooting video using stabilization systems.

The optical design of the Rokinon 75mm F1.8 X lens consists of 10 elements in 9 groups, including 2 high-refraction HR glass elements and 3 extra-low dispersion ED elements, which provide contrast and high resolution across the frame. The maximum aperture of F/1.8 creates a shallow depth of field and pleasing bokeh.

A telephoto lens uses a micro-patterned rubberized focus ring and a matte finish on the body that has weather seals at 5 different points on the lens to keep out snow, dust, and splashing water, according to the manufacturer.

Rokinon 75mm f1.8 is an autofocus lens that provides quiet, accurate, and fast autofocus and subject tracking for video recording, according to a company press release.
