LG UltraGear 27GN800P Gaming Monitor with 1440p, 144Hz, and G-Sync

The LG UltraGear 27GN800 released in 2020 has received a successor model. The LG 27GN800P is almost identical in terms of features but uses a newer panel and thus makes the leap from the EU energy efficiency class G to F. Instead of 31 watts, the new LG 1440p 144hz G Sync monitor only draws 26 watts in SDR operation. The HDR consumption remains at 48 watts.

The new 27-inch LG Ultra Gear gaming monitor has an IPS panel with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), up to 144 Hz refresh rate, 99 percent sRGB, 1000:1 contrast, 10-bit color depth ( 8-bit + FRC ), and HDR10 support. However, the latter is unlikely to be convincing due to the lack of dimming zones and the moderate brightness of 350 cd/m².

Gamers will not only enjoy WQHD at 144 Hz, but also 1 ms response time (gray to gray), FreeSync Premium, and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync. A black stabilizer and switchable crosshair overlays are also available via the OSD. On the interface side, you have to be content with two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone output.

In terms of ergonomics, the only features offered are tilt, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and a flicker-reduced backlight. The LG 1440p 144hz G Sync monitor weighs 5.6 kg without the stand, and the dimensions are 614.2 x 364.8 x 51.7 mm (W x H x D).
