Sony launches the InZone H3, H7 & H9 gaming headsets with 360 spatial sound

Sony introduced three new top noise cancelling headphones that offer some interesting features when used with a PlayStation 5. Thanks to a special app for Windows, the PS5 headphones are also aimed at PC gaming enthusiasts. The top gaming headset wireless model offers ANC and RGB lighting.

Sony INZONE H9 PS5 headphones

In addition to the all-new InZone gaming monitors, Sony also unveiled three top noise cancelling headphones for gaming sporting the new accessory branding. There’s no denying a certain inspiration from the design of the PlayStation 5 when it comes to the headsets either – the rounded ear cups and the black and white housing are inevitably reminiscent of the console.

That shouldn’t be a coincidence, because if the InZone H7 or H9 is used with the PS5, the console can automatically display the current settings of the headphones on the TV or adjust the volume of the game or voice chat, while the headphones thanks to 360 Spatial Audio are also compatible with the PS5’s 3D Audio feature. Settings can also be adjusted on the PC via the InZone Hub app.

The H7 and H9 are Bluetooth headphones that have a battery life of 40 and 32 hours, respectively. The surcharge for the H9 is mainly due to the active noise cancellation (ANC), whereby the discreet RGB LED ring is also reserved for the top model.

The PS5 headphones can also be connected via a 2.4 GHz wireless connection via a USB receiver supplied, which reduces latency. The InZone H3 uses a cable instead to reduce costs. According to the press release, the H3 already offers particularly deep bass, but the H7 and H9 should be able to reproduce higher frequencies more clearly.

PS5 headphones prices and availability

The new Sony InZone gaming headsets are available to pre-order on the Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk websites and will be released on July 10, 2022. The InZone H3 starts at a recommended retail price of $98 / £89, the H7 is offered for a list price of $228 / £199, and the H9 cost $298 / £269.
