Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to play audio material on your studio monitors? Or maybe you use your tablet or smartphone to make music with it. Nothing could be more obvious than to listen to them on the monitors. Often this can only be done indirectly, PreSonus would like to make this as convenient as possible for you with MicroStation BT.

It is a compact monitor controller with support for Bluetooth 5.1 and aux connections. With a “big knob” you regulate the volume of wirelessly connected smart devices and of course the equipment connected via analog connections, be it the computer with an audio interface, a mixer, or whatever.

You will find the necessary connections on the back. Balanced stereo input for jack (6.3 mm), a similarly equipped output, input, and output for aux (3.5 mm), and a sub out (both for 3.6 mm jack and cinch). Connect a subwoofer via the sub out. The aux output also serves as an alternative headphone output (unfortunately only on the back).

In addition to the already mentioned large control for adjusting the volume, you will find a button for Bluetooth activation and a pairing button on the top. There are also buttons for muting and bypassing the connected subwoofer. Incidentally, the system gives it a frequency response of 20 to 200 Hz. Since there are no options for setting low-cuts at the monitors, is primarily concerned with the rapid establishment of 2.1 monitoring systems. The MicroStation BT also does without XLR, but the intended target group will certainly have no problem with it.

Price and availability

PreSonus MicroStation BT Monitor controller has been priced at $129 .95 and it can be purchased via the Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, and Adorama.com online stores.

Recently, PreSonus has introduced the Eris Sub8 compact subwoofer box, which means a lot of bass in a small project studio when gaming or in the home theater.
