PreSonus releases Eris E5 BT, new best studio monitors for content creators and home producers. The studio monitor speakers are based on the Eris E3.5 and Eris E4.5 but rely on more bass and a few additional features.
The pair of studio speakers use a 5.25-inch woofer with a Kevlar membrane and a 1-inch tweeter with a silk membrane. These are powered by a Class D power amplifier with a total of 100 watts. The frequency response goes from 53 Hz to 22 kHz and offers a significantly extended bass range compared to the Eris E3.5 and Eris E4.5. This benefits all those who also want to produce music with the audio monitor models.
The connections are a jack (balanced), cinch, a 3.5 mm stereo jack on the front, and also aptX Bluetooth. That means you are prepared for a large number of applications. PreSonus not only thinks of home producers and content creators but also of gamers or people who may just want to listen to some music.
The headphone output on the front is also practical. Another extra compared to the rest of the Eris family is the TRS Sub Out. Here you can connect a subwoofer like the Eris Sub8 (approx. $200 on Amazon). Two controls for acoustic tuning allow you to adapt to the conditions of the room, so you can achieve more precise sound reproduction.
Compared to the namesake Eris E5 (approx. $135 on Amazon), a loudspeaker is operated passively. If you’re looking for two fully powered best studio monitors with similar frequency responses and can omit the Bluetooth, subwoofer out, and front panel connections, it might be a better choice.
