Nikon launches NIKKOR Z DX 12-28mm F3.5-5.6 PZ Lens

Nikon has released the NIKKOR Z DX 12-28mm f3.5-5.6 PZ VR interchangeable lens, featuring the first Z-mount zoom mechanism for zoom control from a compatible camera (currently only available with the Z 30 and Z fc) or remote control. The Nikon Z lens is designed for cameras with sensors format Nikon DX (APS-C).

The angle of view of the new lens is equivalent to 18-42mm in 35mm format and is suitable, according to the manufacturer, for selfies and vlogging. The built-in “VR” camera shake correction mechanism is effective at 4.5 stops of exposure, NORMAL or SPORT modes can be selected.

The lens design consists of 12 elements in 11 groups (including 1 aspherical element) and a 7-blade diaphragm. The shortest shooting distance is 0.19 m at the entire zoom range. It is possible to install filters with a diameter of 67 mm, external dimensions are about Ø72 × 63.5 mm, and a weight is about 205 g.

The Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 12-28mm f3.5-5.6 PZ VR lens can be pre-ordered through Bhphotovideo.com and Adorama.com websites for $356.95 and will go on sale in May.
