Along with the new iPad 2019 tablets, Apple has also announced the Watch Series 5. New Apple Watch Series 5 highlights its always-on display Retina display, using an LTPO OLED display panel, and a built-in compass. The Apple Watch features an International Emergency Calling feature, letting users place an emergency call in a foreign country.

The new Apple Watch price for the GPS version starts at $399 and GPS + Cellular model starts at $499. The Series 5 Watch already up for pre-orders via Bhphotovideo.com, with a release date beginning Friday, September 20 in the US, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and 38 other countries and regions.
New Apple Watch Series 5 Specifications
New Watch 5 features Always-On Retina display will show the time and important information at all times and Apple says that it has optimized every watch face for this display. It comes with LTPO OLED technology, capable of a dynamic refresh rate between 60Hz and 1Hz. It has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, the 44mm display has a resolution of 368×448 pixels, while the 40mm display has a resolution of 324×394 pixels. Both provide a 30 percent larger display compared to the Apple Watch Series 3.
On the new apple watch 2019 series 5, the screen intelligently dims when a user’s wrist is down and returns to full brightness with a raise or a tap and this is made possible through technologies like low-temperature polysilicon and oxide display (LTPO), ultra-low power display driver, efficient power management integrated circuit and new ambient light sensor.
The new Apple Watch Series 5 will be available in two sizes of cases – 44mm and 40mm – and features a ceramic and sapphire crystal back finish. Both are 10.7mm thick and feature a digital crown with haptic feedback. It is powered by Apple’s new 64-bit dual-core S5 processor, said to be up to 2 times faster than the S3 processor. The W3 wireless chip provides connectivity. There is 32GB of storage on the smartwatch.
The Apple Watch 5 comes with updated location features and now has a built-in compass. The new Compass app can be used to see the heading, incline, latitude, longitude, and current elevation and users can even add one of three new Compass complications to their watch face to see direction at a glance.
The speaker on the Series 5 Apple Watch is 50% louder than that of the Apple Watch Series 3. As for the important battery life statistic, the new iwatch 5 delivers up to 18 hours of battery life – which means you still need to charge it at the end of the day.
It will be available in an all-new titanium case material (natural titanium and space black titanium) alongside the classic styles like the stainless steel case in gold, silver, and space black. The aluminum case in silver, gold, and space gray is now made from 7000 series aluminum. It will also be available in a white ceramic case along with a new sport loop and a wide range of great new band colors.
