Fujifilm launched the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99, a new instant camera with various features. This compact camera has five shooting modes, including automatic exposure, and supports both macro and landscape shooting. Additionally, it prints photos measuring 2×3 inches (5×7.5 cm).
The Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 offers six built-in color effects, flash control, and five brightness levels. Its design resembles Fujifilm mirrorless models. The camera features a manual vignetting switch and a built-in self-timer. Two shutter buttons are included for portrait and landscape photography. The package includes a basic handle with a tripod mount.
The camera’s functionality is primarily accessible through external buttons and control dials. For example, it includes a color effect dial with options such as Faded Green, Warm Tone, Light Blue, Soft Magenta, Sepia, and Light Leak. The dial uses abbreviations for designation.
The camera utilizes an LED light within itself for the color effect feature. This light exposes the selected color to the film, creating the intended effect on the printed image.
A second disk on the camera’s body, located on the right top, allows users to choose from five different brightness settings. These settings include the brightest exposure (L+), a normal range of brightness (L, D, N), and the darkest brightness level (D-).
The camera offers Landscape, Normal/Portrait, and Macro Focus modes, all accessible by adjusting the lens ring. Landscape mode focuses on objects at a distance of 3 meters and beyond. The macro mode caters to close-up shots and selfies at a distance of 0.3 to 0.6 meters. Additionally, there is a standard shooting mode.
Equipped with a special vignetting switch on the lens barrel, the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 allows users to create an artistic effect, softening the image and framing it with a dark border.
The camera features a self-timer mode suitable for group shots, and the flash always fires regardless of lighting conditions.
Users can select shooting modes such as “indoor” for low-light conditions, “sports mode” with increased shutter speed for capturing dynamic scenes, “double exposure mode” for combining two images into one, and “Bulb” mode that enhances light for a brightening effect on the print.
