DJI has announced a new ultra-compact and lightweight drone – DJI Mini 3. It weighs 249 grams and therefore does not require compliance with several regulatory restrictions imposed in several countries. The DJI Mini 3 drone received a camera with a 1 / 1.3-inch sensor and the ability to shoot 4K HDR video. Also implemented is support for 12-megapixel images in True Vertical Shooting mode.
The sensor optics have an F/1.7 aperture and are said to provide low noise even in low light and high contrast. The DJI Mini3 camera supports 4K video recording up to 30 fps.
A 4-in-1 pixel binning technology is also implemented, which allows you to create photos with a resolution of 48 to 12 megapixels and individual pixels up to 2.4 microns in size for improved low-light performance.
The second feature that allows you to improve image quality in low light conditions is double base ISO, as well as HDR technology.
The so-called True Vertical Shooting function is implemented – the camera rotates 90 degrees, and provides vertical shooting for creating content for social networks.
The new DJI Mini 3 drone comes with a standard Intelligent Flight Battery that provides a maximum flight time of up to 38 minutes.
An optional Intelligent Flight Battery Plus can be used for up to 51 minutes of flight time. The DJI O2 digital video transmission provides 720p/30fps live streaming up to 10km away. With a wind resistance of up to 10.7m/s, the Mini 3 can hover steadily and maintain a stable image in various conditions.
The new DJI Mini3 also received several standard features for such devices – QuickShots. Using a handful of different pre-programmed drone flight patterns, you can use the DJI Fly app to quickly take professional-level videos. You can choose from Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, or Boomerang modes. Once captured, the DJI Fly app lets you add filters and soundtracks and share your work directly to social media platforms. Using QuickTransfer, you can quickly send your QuickShots to your mobile device for backup and online sharing.
Implemented support for several “intelligent” functions: automatic takeoff, and return to home (standard, emergency, and low battery). The DJI Mini 3 also has a GNSS system in combination with a bottom sensor system and infrared sensors for stable and accurate hovering.
