The new Canon PIXMA PRO-200 impresses with its compact design, innovative technologies, and new inks. For formats up to A3+, the Canon all in one printer is ideal for simple, high-quality photo printing. The PIXMA PRO-200 enables borderless photo printing on a variety of paper types with different textures and formats, as well as special fine art media. The new skew correction ensures a straight paper path with both automatic and manual paper feed, even with paper lengths of up to 99 cm.
The new Canon PIXMA PRO-200 ink jet printer is the successor to the popular PRO-100S, which was introduced in 2015 and offers fast, high-quality, and borderless printing up to A3+ format and in all kinds of media with eight dye-based inks. In addition to the quality, the PIXMA PRO-200 also scores with speed: In just 90 seconds it brings photos in vivid colors in A3+ with a border on paper. (The photo printing speed is based on the standard-setting with ISO / JIS-SCID N2 and on Canon Pro Platinum paper, A3 + with border.)
The printing process can be controlled and managed very intuitively via the new, large 7.5 cm (3-inch) LCD display. The PIXMA PRO-200 offers a number of exciting new printing options. For example, Canon’s Professional Print & Layout software optimizes the process from recording to printing. Both soft and hard proofs are possible. The printout of the screen view can be adapted quickly and easily using the new software.
The Canon PIXMA PRO-200 sets the bar significantly higher than its predecessor because Canon has been able to significantly expand the reproducible color space with the new ink printer. The new 8-ink system based on dyes enables photo printing with a high level of color brilliance. The new A3+ printer is characterized by an extended color space in the three areas of red, blue, and black.
With a weight of 14.1 kg, the Canon Pixma ink printer is very light, 5.6 kg less than its predecessor, and is also 15 percent more compact. A 3-inch color display enables the user to check the ink level and other printer settings at a glance while continuing to work effortlessly.
An extensive software addition rounds off the picture. The free Canon Professional Print & Layout software offers photographers a wide range of interesting options for printing their images. The recordings can be color-coordinated from the screen to the printing in order to ensure a lifelike reproduction. The PIXMA PRO-200 is also compatible with mobile devices via WiFi, making printing from different devices easier than ever.
An integrated skew correction ensures that a print medium that is accidentally fed at an angle is accurately aligned and reliably printed. This particularly lowers costs when processing very high-quality art print media.
To ensure that every print looks professional, the PIXMA PRO-200 offers the option of borderless printing on both glossy and art paper. It prints on a wide variety of paper sizes up to A3+ as well as custom lengths up to 990.6 millimeters from Canon and other providers. Creative limits and challenges can be redefined when printing on fine art and glossy media as well as on the new “Canon Premium Fine Art Rough” paper (FA-RG1).
The PIXMA PRO-200 also offers the option of loading ICC profiles from many other well-known paper manufacturers. The Media Configuration Tool known from ImagePROGRAF printers is very helpful for this. This means that the profiles can not only be managed but also saved in the printer. In order to support the photographers in the implementation of their creative wishes from the shooting to the printing, Canon offers the software “Professional Print & Layout”, which works independently and can be used as a plug-in for Canon DPP, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Photoshop.

The new PIXMA PRO-200 Canon all in one printer has been priced at $599 and is now available to pre-order on Bhphotovideo and Amazon websites.
Along with this new ink jet printer, Canon has also introduced the RF 50mm f1.8 STM and RF 70-200mm f4L IS USM lenses for mirrorless cameras.
