Activision recently introduced the online multiplayer mode of the expected Call of Duty Modern Warfare, a title that will debut on October 25th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There was also the simultaneous announcement of an Open Beta, which will be available in September.
The online segment of Modern Warfare promises a frantic, engaging experience characterized by extremely realistic settings, fan-favorite modes, and Killstreak return, or bonuses that are obtained by eliminating multiple enemies consecutively without getting killed. All together with a renewed customization of the weapons that can be modified according to one’s style of play through the Maestro d’Armi system, the deepest and most articulated in the series.
“Grounded combat and fast-paced action. The most photorealistic environments in franchise history. Fan-favorite multiplayer modes and epic Killstreaks. Deep weapon customization. Best-in-class down the barrel gameplay. And a whole lot more.”
Players will descend on the battlefields to face rapid 2vs2 games in Gunfight, clash in traditional 6vs6 until they fight large-scale battles in the Terrestrial War, a sort of Battle Royale capable of hosting games from over 100 users where flags will be present to conquer and defend. The 10vs10 and 20vs20 are also confirmed.
To ensure more realistic gameplay, the development team also announced the removal of the mini-map which will only appear when a player will use a Killstreak to claim a reconnaissance.
