With the Acro CA1000T, Astell & Kern has presented the best home audio system headphone amplifier that is both unusual and innovative. The device features a fold-out touchscreen, an integrated battery, and support for Bluetooth aptX HD and LDAC.
The latest head-fi system from Astell & Kern promises first-class flexibility and audio quality. In addition, the manufacturer relies on a rather unusual design with a fold-out touchscreen that looks like a portable music player. The 4.1 inch 720p display can be folded up to an angle of up to 60 degrees.
The touchscreen is used to adjust the settings, access various features, and control music playback, although dedicated buttons and rotary control for the volume are also available for this purpose. On the front, there are 3.5mm and 6.5mm headphone jacks as well as balanced 2.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, through which headphones with an impedance of 32 to 600 ohms can be operated.
Astell & Kern installed two ESS ES9039MPRO digital-to-analog converters, which support all common music formats, including DSD512, MQA and PCM files up to 32-bit at 768 kHz. The best home audio system has three amplifiers, two of which are tube-based so that the user is free to choose which sound he prefers.
Music can either be loaded onto the 256 GB internal memory or onto a MicroSD card or streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth aptX HD and LDAC. A USB-C port, Toslink, and Coax are also available for connecting sources. The device weighs 980 grams, and the 10,000 mAh battery promises a runtime of eleven hours.

The Astell & Kern Acro CA1000T costs $2,299 and will be available for pre-order starting January 20th on Bhphotovideo.com, and will be released on February 13th, 2023.
