BenQ unveils its new X500i 4K gaming projector with HDR

BenQ has unveiled its X500i projector for playing video games, designed to offer gamers an immersive experience. This new gaming projector covers 84% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and boasts a brightness of up to 2,200 ANSI lumens. It caters to gamers with different modes for various game genres, low input lag, and superior sound supported by BenQ CinematicSound technology.

The BenQ X500i 4K HDR projector is aimed at console gamers seeking a captivating gaming and entertainment setup. Delivering a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, this new gaming projector employs a maintenance-free 4LED light source and provides extensive coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. It incorporates CinematicColor technology, ensuring excellent image quality, especially in darker scenes.

This short-throw 4K HDR gaming projector for playing video games utilizes LED light sources, boasting a peak brightness of 2,200 ANSI lumens. It covers 84% of DCI-P3 color spaces and 95% of Rec.709 color spaces. The projector also features a contrast ratio of 500,000:1 and a throw ratio ranging from 0.69 to 0.83.

Similar to the X3100i (approx. $2,399 on Amazon), the X500i offers specialized modes tailored for different game types like RPG and SPG. It achieves an input lag of 16.7ms at 4K@60Hz resolution, reducing to 4.2ms at 1080p@240Hz. Users can refine the image using a 2D keystone correction tool and benefit from a 1.2X zoom capability. With a brightness of up to 5,000 ANSI lumens, DLP laser technology, an extended light source life of up to 20,000 hours, a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1, and HDR support, it’s offered at a competitive price of $3,799.
