Acer Swift X 16 creative flagship combines a 3.2K OLED display with AMD Ryzen 9 7940H

Acer has introduced the Swift X 16 (SFX16-61G), a robust notebook that primarily targets creative professionals with high-performance demands. The laptop, with a mere 17.9-millimeter thickness, places a strong emphasis on power, incorporating an AMD Ryzen 9 7940H processor and a GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU.

The new Acer Swift X 16 boasts an ultra-thin metal housing measuring 17.9 millimeters in thickness and weighing 1.9 kilograms. Notably, the trackpad has been expanded by 33 percent compared to its predecessor model. The prime focus of this new iteration lies in performance enhancements. In its top-tier variant, Acer integrates the AMD Ryzen 9 7940H processor, complemented by an integrated Radeon 780M GPU.

While AMD’s integrated graphics prove more than capable for low-power multimedia applications, the Swift X 16 caters to gaming and demanding 3D tasks with either a GeForce RTX 3050 laptop GPU or a GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU, depending on the chosen model. The enhanced cooling system reportedly facilitates a 36 percent increase in airflow compared to the previous iteration. Moreover, the 76 Wh battery, despite the device’s formidable performance, is expected to provide a reasonable operational lifespan.

The 16-inch display, adhering to the 16:10 aspect ratio, offers two alternatives: an IPS panel boasting a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels or an OLED screen featuring 3,200 x 2,000 pixels. The Acer Swift X 16 can be configured with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, offering capacities of up to 2 TB. Beyond Wi-Fi 6E and a microSD card reader, the laptop further presents HDMI 2.1, two USB 4.0 (USB-C) ports, and a fingerprint sensor to facilitate Windows login.

Equipped with AI capabilities, the 1080p webcam supports various functions, such as background blurring and automatic image adjustments.
