Acer has released an enhanced version of the Predator X38 which was originally announced at CES 2020. The new Acer Predator X38 S curved gaming monitor is now VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified and comes with a built-in NVIDIA Reflex latency analyzer. The rest of the features, including the 2300R UWQHD+ panel, are similar to the previous version of the Acer Predator monitor.
The new Acer curved monitor is the successor to the Predator X38 which debuted at CES 2020 as the world’s first UWQHD+ monitor (3840 x 1600) and a refresh rate of 175 Hz. The Predator gaming monitor is roughly the same model as the Predator X38 but with a few changes. This year, the Predator X38 S achieves VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification and comes with the built-in NVIDIA Reflex latency analyzer that can measure system latency between when the mouse is clicked and when the character reacts to it. screen.
The rest of the specifications are identical to that of the last generation Predator X38. These include the 37.5-inch 2300R curvature UWQHD + panel with DCI-P3 gamut coverage of 98%, a delta E of less than 2 for precise color reproduction, and an overclocked refresh rate of 175 Hz. X38 S offers a gray-gray response time of 0.3 ms to avoid ghosting in fast-paced scenes.
Acer’s Predator X38 S also comes with a decent software suite to get the most out of the hardware. It includes Predator Game Mode which offers eight presets to suit different types of content, Acer LightSense for making automatic brightness adjustments, and AcerColor Sense for automatic color temperature adjustments based on ambient lighting.
The Acer Predator monitor offers NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultimate to eliminate screen tearing and also comes with a G-SYNC eSports mode which ensures the lowest possible latency. G-SYNC eSports mode turns off variable backlighting and increases black levels to better distinguish objects in dark areas.
