With the Acer EI491CUR, Acer is bringing a new and ultra wide 49 inch curved monitor with 5K resolution onto the market. The new Acer curved monitor model is aimed at video gamers.
With the EI491CUR, Acer is bringing a new 49 inch monitor for gaming. Specifically, the device has an aspect ratio of 32:9, the 5K resolution of the 49 inch curved monitor is accordingly 5,120 x 1,440 pixels, which ultimately corresponds to two WQHD screens without interruption. The panel is curved with a radius of 1,800 millimeters, which should benefit the immersion but also the comfort of use.
According to the specs, the panel should cover 94 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, although this coverage is stated as 90 percent on an overview page. The brightness is natively estimated at 350 cd/m², in HDR400 mode the maximum brightness should then – unsurprisingly – be 400 cd/m².
The refresh rate is up to 120 Hz, although this high refresh rate is only available when using the DisplayPort 1.4 port. When using the HDMI 2.0 port, the refresh rate is limited to 60 Hertz with a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels. Two DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports are installed. The grey-to-grey response time is estimated at four milliseconds.
The built-in stand allows the height to be adjusted by 95 millimeters, and the screen can also be rotated and tilted. Mounting on a wall bracket or an alternative stand is possible via VESA. Two 3-watt speakers are built-in, and there is also an audio output for headsets.
Price and availability
The Acer EI491CUR is currently being offered by Amazon.com online shop for $1,0099.99. The Samsung S95UA, a very similar widescreen monitor, is currently available in the country for just under $1,300.
