UMIDIGI Z1 and Z1 Pro Official: 6.95mm thick, 4000mAh battery and Dual Camera

The wait is over! The new flagship from UMIDIGI, both UMIDIGI Z1 and Z1 Pro, are set for official launching today at 10am GMT+2. This is the season of Android flagships, with the LG G6, Galaxy S8, OnePlus 5 already on shelves, our attention now turns to UMIDIGI, the rapidly rising smartphone company.

We have already known quite a few about the new flagship from UMIDIGI. Between leaked specs and renderings, we already know the phone will have a high power-efficient chipset, an awesome camera, elegant smoothy design, and a super thin body packed with big battery. Now finally here are the official released details of UMIDIGI Z1 and UMIDIGI Z1 Pro that you’re expecting to know.

UMIDIGI Z1 & Z1 Pro Display and Design

UMIDIGI has always put a premium on design, same on the Z1 & Z1 Pro. In press leaked photos by the company, the handset’s rear design moves the camera to the upper left corner like on the iPhone, rather than keeping it centered. The antenna lines remain, meaning the back is made of aluminum and not glass.

While on the front, UMIDIGI seems to embrace the bezel-less features for the left and right sides, though this is the all-screen bezel-less phone from UMIDIGI is set to be released later this year. But on UMIDIGI Z1 & Z1 Pro, you can still get a silky bezel-less like hand feeling and display mode. Apart, are the 5.5” Full HD 1920×1080 resolution display, pill-shaped home button/fingerprint sensor, and the 3.5mm headphone jack on the top edge of the device.

What is noticeable is the different screen materials applied on Z1 and Z1 Pro. on UMIDIGI Z1, it’s the regular but decent 5.5” LCD display. But for UMIDIGI Z1 Pro, the company managed to apply AMOLED screen display, the latest and finest smartphone display panel so far with the superiority in color saturation, thinness and power consumption over LCD panels. Only a few smartphone manufacturers are able to apply AMOLED panels now, UMIDIGI is one of the forerunners. AMOLED is also one of the key reasons that Z1 Pro can go down to 6.95mm thinness, while the LCD screen Z1 is 8.2mm.

Specs and Performance

Now here comes one of the most concerned details of the device.

UMIDIGI Z1 Pro

Mediatek’s Highest power-efficient Processor, the MT6757 with authentic Octa-core clocked at 2.3Ghz is going to be used on UMIDIGI Z1 and Z1 Pro. The MediaTek MT6757 is built on a 16nm process node and offers 25% better power efficiency, higher processing performance, nd our most advanced camera / video features to date. MediaTek MT6757 also offers significant multitasking and multimedia improvements thanks to its new LPDDR4X memory support.

Both Z1 & Z1 Pro are packed with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. Z1 Pro was supposed to be 8GB RAM, but due to lack of supply, which will lead to delay in production, UMIDIGI decided to release both Z1 and Z1 PRO with 6GB RAM at the same as promised.
