Sound Devices launches new Gen MixPre-6 II Multitrack Recorder

Sound Devices has released an updated range of MixPre multitrack recorders for concert and studio work. One of the new members of the series is MixPre-6 II 6-Channel field recorder, which has a dynamic range of 115 dB and supports working with sampling frequency up to 32 bit 192 kHz.

Unlike the previous generation portable audio recorder device, the Sound Devices MixPre-6 II multitrack recorder has received improved software with new features and support for Ambisonics technology, a 300 mW headphone output, the ability to back up recorded files to USB drives and digitally controlled analog limiters. In addition, the new portable recorder has acquired several additional ADCs that allows you to record sound with a very low distortion level and 142 dB dynamic range.

The streaming audio recorder itself is equipped with class-A Kashmir mic preamps with amplification up to 76 dB. To control the device, there are 4 buttons, 4 controls and a touch LCD screen with access to all functions and internal applications. The recorder allows you to assign input parameters to any knobs and buttons, has several program modes and saved presets with configurations of all inputs and settings.

Other features of Sound Devices MixPre-6 II multitrack recording include: record up to 8 audio tracks in WAV format in standalone mode, support for working with SD / SDXC / SDHC cards up to 512GB, built-in mixer with a set of effects, the ability to directly connect USB-MIDI controllers and remote control of mobile devices. For switching, the interface has 4 XLR inputs, Aux / Mic input, headphone output, Cam Tc port, USB and USB-C, one 3.5 stereo output and memory card slots. The power system provides options for using batteries and accumulators for power, as well as power from its own adapter or external devices via USB.
