Sony recently released a new software update for the WH-1000XM2 and WI-1000X wireless headphones with the support for Google Assistant.
New software update version 2.0.0 released by Sony for these two headphones allows to take advantage of the voice commands with the Google assistant, while improving the speed of start and reception. It is possible to activate its operation even on iOS devices as well, and in addition the firmware improves the reception of voice notifications with the headphones.
In order for Google Assistant to work correctly, after updating your headset’s software, you can change the noise cancellation / ambient button to trigger Google Assistant instead.
Sony will then also upgrade the three more headset models: WF-1000X, WH-CH900N and WH-H900N with the Google Assistant support in the coming weeks.
