When Google added support for two Notch in Android pie, many questioned the makers and even the idea. If many already hated only one notch, then imagine two? Well, it seems that Sharp did not notice the steps against the notch and announce its new high-performance smartphone, not with just one notch, but two!
The device called Sharp Aquos R2 Compact and, in addition to the top notch to accommodate the front camera, the device also has a lower notch to accommodate part of the fingerprint sensor of the smartphone.
As you can see in the video and images of the handset, the R2 Compact features relatively thick edges for a high-performance smartphone in 2018 and back cover that resembles Pixel 3 thanks to the camera cluster and the location of the elements.
Now with more screen area compared to its predecessor, Sharp adds a 5.2-inch IGZO LCD display with Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution. For IGZO technology, the display features a 120Hz refresh rate, providing faster and more instant transitions and animations.
With two notches, the Sharp Aquos R2 Compact will have sales starting in mid-January next year in Japan and more information regarding prices will be announced later.
