After the Moto E5 leak, Motorola’s 2018 line-up seems to have finally hit the web. Several renders leaked online show not only three new devices of the brand, Moto G6, Moto X5 and Moto Z3 Play, but also exhibit one of the first new Moto Mods for the ‘Moto Z’ line, with 5G connectivity.
The Moto G6 should hit the market with a similar design to the one we know as the Moto X4, bringing the rear glass panel.
The device should feature a 5.7-inch Full HD display (18:9 aspect ratio and reduced edges), dual rear camera sensor: 12MP + 5MP, 16MP front camera sensor and fingerprint sensor at the front.
Regarding the processor, we can expect a Snapdragon 430 SoC with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The device can have a battery capacity of 3000mAh.
Moto G6 Plus
For the G6 Plus, we would have similar specifications, with the exception of the processor, which would incorporate a Snapdragon 630 SoC, display that would be slightly larger with 5.93-inches, as well as the battery capacity which would bring 3200mAh.
Moto G6 Play
The G6 Play would have a same size screen as the G6 but would have its fingerprint sensor moved to the back (just below the camera), with a slightly larger battery capacity of 4000mAh.
The Moto X5 would be the newest member of the ‘Moto X’ series, in 2017 which returned with the launch of Moto X4, an Android One device.
It may be one of the most interesting releases this year, due to its bezelless format, something that immediately excels in rendering. Another detail that can be easily perceived lies in the iPhone X style display, which will feature a dual front camera as well as a speaker.
But unlike Apple, Motorola has opted for a dark status bar, to try to ‘disguise’ the presence of such an element. At the bottom, we see a small border, but not as minimal as that of Apple’s one.
The software element located at the bottom suggests that the device can be operated with gestures; although not so clear in the image, it may be that the fingerprint reader is embedded in the logo on the back below the camera sensors.
Moto Z3 Play
The Z3 should debut in the market as a flagship device along with the Z3 Play variant and another device (which has not yet get its name). Both the Z3 and Z3 Play will feature 6.0-inch Full HD+ displays with 18:9 aspect ratio and curved edges.
The third variant may bring a big screen with even more resolution, and be equipped with Snapdragon 845 SoC; there are no signs of the presence of a fingerprint sensor, which can lead to three speculations: Motorola will remove the fingerprint sensor by relying only on face unlock.
The device will have a side face fingerprint sensor or will be positioned on the screen just like the Moto X5. Both Moto Z3 and Z3 Play should feature a dual front camera as well as a rear, and the presence of the software element at the bottom also suggests the use of gesture control.
Moto Mod 5G
The Moto Z3 would arrive at the market bringing with it another important launch for the Moto Mods line; it is modular capable of connecting to 5G network. All these devices will be introduced at MWC 2018, so stay tuned!
