Microsoft Lumia 550 with 4.7-inch Display, 4G LTE and 200GB External storage Launched

Along with the Lumia 950/950XL and Microsoft Band 2, Microsoft has announced another smartphone called Lumia 550 for budget segment specially targeting the new users who want to enter in the Windows 10 Mobile, as well as strategic devices in many markets outside the United States.

The design of the Microsoft Lumia 550 is typical of the budget or mid-range Lumia line today, it is still square-candy bar design, the back panel is slightly rounded at the edges and corners, while the power button and volume controls on the right side, 3.5mm headphone jack on top, a speaker grille at the lower back panel corner and the new Microsoft logo is looking quite stylish.

The Lumia 550 features a 4.7-inch LCD screen with HD resolution of 720×1280 pixels and a pixel density of 315ppi. On the power, it comes with a 1.1GHz quad-core processors, Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC and along with Adreno 304 GPU. Besides, the phone has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory with microSD card support up to 200GB.

It sports a 5-megapixel primary camera with autofocus, f/2.4 aperture, LED flash and also supports HD 720p video recording. While on front has a 2-megapixel snapper with f/2.8 aperture to capture wide or group selfies and also able to record 480p video. There are also some built-in camera features such as touch focus, auto or manual exposure and geo-tagging.

The Lumia 550 supports 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, MicroUSB 2.0, FM radio and along with complete dual SIM functionality. It packs a 2100mAh battery with fast charging feature and according to Microsoft can deliver up to 28 days of standby time, 16 hours of talk time on 2G, 14 hours on 3G, and 17 hours on 4G network.

The Lumia 550 will have many different colors including Red, White, Black and Blue variants. Microsoft said it will sell the device in some European countries in December, the Lumia 550 price of $139. Microsoft also plans to bring the device to more countries in the next year.
