Garmin Instinct Solar, Fenix 6S, Fenix 6 Pro, and Tactix Delta Solar Edition Introduced

Garmin continues to expand the offer of Solar smartwatches. The company kicked off this product range with the Fenix ​​6 X Pro Solar launched at the latest IFA in Berlin, renewed it in the spring with the Quatix 6X and re-launches now with other Solar smartwatch models: Garmin Instinct Solar, Solar Surf, Solar Tactical, Fenix 6S Solar, 6 Pro Solar, and Tactix Delta Solar Edition.

The advantage of the new charging solution concerns the possibility of extending the battery life, a most welcome circumstance when carrying out outdoor activities in which the integrated GPS module is used.

Garmin Instinct Solar

The sports watch models in the Instinct series are very resistant thanks to the fiber-reinforced polymer case and Gorilla Glass. These are GPS smartwatches with phone notification support and can reach a maximum battery of 54 days in smartwatch mode. The features dedicated to monitoring physical activity and biometric parameters include the preloaded profiles for many sports (including surfing, swimming, running, cycling, hiking), the detection of heart rate, and oxygen saturation level.

The new Garmin Solar model is also available in Surf and Tactical editions: popular with military personnel, is equipped with tactical-specific features such as night-vision goggle compatibility and Stealth mode.

Fenix 6S Pro and 6 Pro Solar

Fenix ​​6S Pro Solar and 6 Pro Solar differ mainly in case size – from 42mm in the case of the 6S, from 47mm in the 6 Pro – weight, display resolution, and colors available. They share the possibility of managing music and maps, Wi-Fi connectivity, and the possibility of being purchased also in the Sapphire version equipped with a sapphire glass lens (in both cases these are features available optionally and which provide extra costs).

The new sports watch versions with solar charging increase the price of $150 compared to the basic models (those without sapphire glass, music, maps, and wifi) that do not have it. At the same time, the maximum battery which can reach 80 days also increases (smartwatch mode with active energy saving). For the rest of the well-known smartwatches dedicated to sportsmen who will enhance their preloaded profiles for multiple activities (running, cycling, hiking, rowing, swimming, etc.), the integrated GPS module and the sensor for monitoring heart rate.

Garmin Tectix Delta Solar

It is the high-end model equipped with functions dedicated to both sportsmen and privacy-conscious users thanks to the stealth function that completely deactivates GPS and wireless communications. Tactix Delta is designed to meet military standards (MIL-STD-810), integrates other tactical functions, such as compatibility with night vision devices and the jumpmaster mode dedicated to paratroopers, and is equipped with GPS and heart rate sensor.
