TerraMaster F4-424 Series NAS devices for business with a powerful Intel processor

TerraMaster has unveiled its latest network-attached storage units powered by a fresh Intel processor. The F4-424 and F4-424 Pro NAS devices for business models boast robust processors capable of handling substantial memory capacities, alongside enhanced network connectivity speeds.

These new 4-bay NAS drive enclosures cater to business needs, accommodating both 2.5 and 3.5-inch storage drives, with provisions for installing two M.2 2280 SSDs accessible via NVMe.

Featuring an Intel N95 chip, the built-in computing power is contemporary, albeit not exceptionally potent. Preinstalled with 8 GB DDR5 RAM, these units support a maximum of 32 GB RAM, utilizing a single available slot and excluding ECC memory support.

The F4-424 model facilitates an 88-terabyte storage capacity, allowing various RAID configurations. Cooling for the processor and memory relies on an 80-millimeter fan, emitting approximately 20 dBA.

Network connectivity options include two Ethernet ports, each capable of up to 2.5 GBit/s, promising speed advantages. The system also includes an HDMI output and USB, including Type C for seamless connectivity with external hard drives. The Linux-based TOS operating system offers diverse options for data backup, user management, and media content streaming, with Docker support.

Meanwhile, the TerraMaster F4-424 Pro, boasting enhanced computing prowess with its built-in Intel Core i3 processor, elevates performance standards. Although the specific model remains undisclosed, it supposedly harnesses eight computing cores, supporting a maximum clock frequency of 3.8 GHz.

The F4-424 Pro, measuring 220 x 179 x 154 millimeters, operates with a single fan, producing a 21 dB volume in standby mode with two hard drives. The system incorporates two USB 3.2 ports, each with a maximum of 10 Gigabit/s data transfer rate, along with an HDMI 2.1 output.

In other developments, QNAP recently introduced the TS-855X network-attached storage system, propelled by the Intel Atom C5125 processor, featuring eight robust cores clocked at speeds of up to 2.8 GHz. Supporting a maximum of 128 GB of RAM and 5 GB flash memory, this system is priced at $1,399.
