The Philips Fidelio X3 Over Ear Headphones will arrive in the US in late August. The new Open Back headphones wired model was announced last January and awarded the iF Design Award 2020, is the latest version of the popular Over-Ear headphones.
The X3 uses a Kvadrat fabric cover to replace the metal grille on the left and right pavilions. The reason is linked to the characteristics of the material itself, acoustically transparent, and therefore capable of reducing the impact caused by the air pressure and the reflections of the standing waves generated behind the transducers.
Philips claims that the new Fidelio has been designed to deliver warm bass without sacrificing midrange detail. There is also talk of greater separation between instruments and voices and high frequencies reproduced faithfully and with a greater extension. These features should allow Philips headphones to recreate a large soundstage.
The sound is diffused through 50mm neodymium drivers inserted in double-layered ear shells that reduce resonance and vibration. The neodymium drivers are engineered to tilt at 15 degrees, fitting the natural geometry to your ear for optimal accuracy at high frequencies. Comfort is ensured by elements such as the Muirhead leather-covered headband.
