With the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f1.2 S lens, Nikon has introduced its first Z series lens with a speed of 1:1.2, and along with it Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f2.8 S zoom lens to complete the Nikon Z lens series for the Z series full-frame mirrorless cameras.
According to Nikon, this lens is characterized by its outstanding imaging performance and compact design. The state-of-the-art optics, the large diameter of the Z mount, and the offer constant light intensity of f/2.8. The lens also has a top OLED information panel that can be used to quickly confirm aperture and focus settings, and an assignable L.Fn button permits making exposure and settings adjustments via the lens.
The compensation of ghost images and stray light also ensures outstanding sharpness. With its focal length range of 14–24 mm, photographers can use it to capture the beauty of architectural compositions, landscapes, and nocturnal scenes. This Nikon lens can also be used with DX models where it provides a 21-36mm equivalent focal length range.
The optical system utilizes four extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements, which reduce a variety of aberrations and distortion in order to achieve high sharpness and clarity along with accurate rendering of subjects and point light sources, such as stars.
