MSI is launching a new best 27″ 1440p gaming monitor. The Optix G272QPF E2 has a screen diagonal of 27 inches and a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels – this resolution enables higher frame rates at native resolution compared to 4K resolution with an even sharper image display and is generally a good choice for video gamers represent.

The Rapid IPS panel is designed to support a refresh rate of up to 180 Hz, with a gray-to-gray response time of one millisecond. It also supports adaptive sync to prevent screen tearing, ensuring the display is synchronized with the graphics card’s output. Additionally, it is compatible with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, offering a refresh rate of 120 Hz for these consoles.

MSI specifies the typical brightness at 300 cd/m² and the contrast ratio at 1,200:1 – so you should not expect a particularly bright or very high-contrast image. The display should cover 90 percent of the Adobe RGB color space and 94 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The panel supports a native 8-bit color space and uses FRC.

The best budget 27″ QHD monitor connects to image sources through two HDMI 2.0b ports and one DisplayPort 1.4, but it does not include a USB hub. However, the monitor offers ergonomic functions, allowing it to rotate, tilt, and adjust in height by up to 130 millimeters.

Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk currently list the MSI Optix G272QPF E2 27″ 1440p gaming monitor for $219.99 and £259, respectively.

Mounting on a wall bracket or using an alternative stand is possible using VESA mounts. Thanks to the thin edges, multi-monitor setups should also be easy to implement. They advertise a night vision function that can brighten dark areas of the image.
