Moto G5 and G5 Plus Official at MWC 2017

On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress 2017, Lenovo introduced the new Moto G5 and G5 Plus smartphones, its forthcoming proposals for the mid-range brand in motion. 

Starting with Motorola Moto G5 phone, the device offers us adequate specifications to the segment, so we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC, a 5.0-inch Full HD display, 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of expandable internal memory. The photo sector is entrusted to a 13-megapixel main sensor with f/2.0 aperture, while the front we find a 5-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Moto G5 also offers us a 2800mAh removable battery with rapid charge, Dual SIM support and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Motorola Moto G5 Plus, however, offers a slightly more powerful hardware. It comes with a 5.2-inch FullHD display, 2GB / 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, and also available in 4GB of RAM with 64GB of native storage, with the option to expand further via a microSD card slot – up to 128GB. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and a 12-megapixels rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and 1.4 micron pixels, while the front remains the same as the standard model. The battery capacity is 3000mAh with Turbo charge.

Both smartphones also will not even miss the gyroscope, an aluminum body, water resistance and a fingerprint sensor, placed in the front of the device and twist gesture. However, the big highlight is that the devices integrate Google Assistant, a feature first exclusive only to the Pixel devices, thus making them much more useful and efficient than its predecessors. Finally, we find a USB Type C and NFC only on Plus variant. 

Moto G5 and G5 Plus Price and Availability

Moto G5 price is set to 199 Euro – approximately $210 for 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM and the Moto G5 Plus price for 2GB RAM + 32GB ROM version is $229, while the Moto G5 Plus 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant will cost 279 Euro – approximately $294.

There is also a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version for select markets. Both new Motorola smartphones are available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold colors; and will be available beginning in March in various countries across Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.
