Meizu MX5 smaller variant dubbed as Meizu MX5E Youth Edition, just few hours ago listed online on Chinese e-commerce websites. New Meizu MX5E priced at around 1,399 Yuan – approximately $216 USD.
As per the listing, the Meizu MX5E is inexpensive and slightly lower specifications when compared to the MX5. It supports dual-SIM 4G LTE and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop based on Flyme5 OS out of the box (MX5 runs Android 5.0). The handset features a same display as MX5 like a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels that can rated to deliver a higher pixel density of 401ppi and also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Inside the MX5E, it’s powered by 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor that’s backed by 64-bit Mediatek MT6795 chipset, slightly downgrade to 64-bit Mediatek MT6795T SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz. It packs in same 3GB DDR3 RAM and available in three different storage options such as 16GB/32GB and 128GB.
On the camera front, MX5E flaunts a 16-megapixel primary camera on the back with LED flash as lower when compared to MX5 20.7-megapixel rear camera. Meanwhile, there is a same 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie and video calling.
On connectivity front, the MX5E supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4, Micro-USB 2.0, FM Radio and 3.5 mm audio jack options. Backed by a same 3150mAh battery, it measures 149.9 x 74.7 x 7.6 mm and weighs 149 grams. The handset is available in Silver and Black color options.

Considering the Meizu MX5E Youth Edition, Meizu will soon be expected to unveil the Meizu m3 note smartphone. It will feature a 5.5-inch IPS display, a Helio X10 MediaTek MT6795 processor; 2GB/3GB of RAM; 16GB/32GB internal storage; 13-megapixel primary camera; a 5-megapixel front-facing camera; runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and will pack 3200mAh battery. As per recent leak on Meizu m3 note price, it is expected to be around 799 Yuan – approximately $123 for the 16GB and 999 Yuan – approximately $154 for 32GB model.
