LG 28MQ780 DualUp Monitor with SDQHD, Nano IPS, and 16:18 format

At CES 2022, LG 28MQ780 business monitor was announced, which not only has something unusual to offer on the outside. The so-called LG DualUp monitor has a 27.6-inch Nano IPS panel, an SDQHD resolution (2560 x 2880 pixels), and a 16:18 format.

This should reduce head movements and save users from neck pain. The manufacturer recently opened an official product page, thanks to which comprehensive key data on the SDQHD monitor are now available.

The contrast ratio is 1000:1, the color depth is 10 bits, the response time is 5 ms (grey to gray), the typical brightness is 300 cd/m², and the maximum refresh rate is 60 Hz. The DCI-P3 color space is covered by 98 percent. HDR10 support is also at the start, but you shouldn’t expect much from it if only because of the moderate brightness values.

The LG 28MQ780 also includes two internal 7-watt speakers, a black stabilizer, an ambient light sensor with automatic brightness adjustment if desired, a blue light filter, and a flicker-reduced backlight. LG seems to have dispensed with sync technology against tearing on the device. On the connection side, there are two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.0 hub, a headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and a 90-watt power supply.

The LG Dualup monitor weighs 9 kg with the stand and can be rotated, tilted, adjusted in height, and pivoted. The Ergo Stand is screwed to a desk. According to the datasheet, the power consumption of the 27.6 inches is 30 watts (SDR) or 41 watts ( HDR ), and the manufacturer also grants a two-year guarantee.

Price and availability

LG 28MQ780 DualUp Monitor is already listed on the Amazon.com and Bhphotovideo.com websites for $699.99, but without any availability details.
