It can also be used at temporary workplaces with an existing cable network. With the Blackmagic Cloud Pod, you get a network storage service without having to pay for a subscription or license. There is also not possibility of tracking data usage by an external service.

Users can set up their network storage using existing USB-C flash drives. It is equipped with 10G high-speed Ethernet for wired network (LAN) integration and Dropbox synchronization. It allows users to cache files locally and share them with anyone on the network. Blackmagic Cloud Pod even has an HDMI monitoring output that shows the status of the network storage in real-time.

Blackmagic Cloud Pod Features

  • Compact pod design for connecting two external USB-C drives
  • Hardware acceleration for high performance
  • Sync with Dropbox
  • Includes HDMI monitoring output with live memory status
  • Includes a high-speed 10G Ethernet port
  • No subscriptions, licenses, or tracking of data usage
  • Utility included for Mac and Windows

Blackmagic Cloud Pod transforms work. It is suitable for film and television projects because it makes files recorded on USB-C drives available to multiple editors and colorists across the network. Depending on the model of USB-C drive used, even massive 12K digital film files can be used in Blackmagic RAW. USB-C drives are great because they’re affordable, fast, and available at any stationery store.

Because the Blackmagic Cloud Pod has no internal storage, it comes in an extremely small and sleek design. In addition, it is extremely quiet and portable. With two USB-C ports, the Cloud Pod supports two separate USB drives on the network at the same time. The fast 10G Ethernet connection also makes it extremely powerful. A live graphical view of storage activity can be viewed on a TV or monitor via the HDMI monitoring output.

A separate ultra-fast 10G Ethernet connection gives the Blackmagic Cloud Pod insane speed. Internal processing is designed for top speeds over the 10G Ethernet port. This is how you get the full performance out of the fastest USB-C drives. Low file access latency brings fast responsiveness to USB-C drives. Even when cutting large 12K digital film files in RAW. Even multicam editing with huge digital film files is smooth with the memory.

Price and availability

The Blackmagic Cloud Pod is available now from Bhphotovideo.com reseller, priced at $395.

Last year, Blackmagic Design has announced a high quality video camera – URSA Broadcast G2. This studio camera is the second generation of the URSA Broadcast series. This digital film camera series is used for broadcasting and recording reports, and it costs $3,995.
