Venus Optics Laowa 14mm F4 FF RL Lens for Nikon Z, Sony E, Leica L, and Canon RF Pre-order Started on B&H Store

Venus Optics recently introduced the Laowa 14mm f4 FF RL lens is now available to pre-order on the B&H store. It is a super wide angle lens with distortion-free imaging. It is the smallest and lightest wide-angle lens with a 114° field of view for mirrorless cameras with full-frame sensors.

It’s only 5.9cm long and weighs just 228g. This makes it the ideal companion for the new compact full-frame cameras and perfect as an “always-with-you lens” for landscape and architecture photographs, as well as for astrophotography. 

Although it is so small and light, no compromises have been made in terms of functionality, image quality, or design, according to Laowa. In the solid metal housing, 13 elements in 10 groups ensure high sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration and reduce distortion to an absolute minimum. The short focus limit of 27cm allows creative wide-angle shots with a depth of field from close range to close range. Thanks to the 5 aperture blades, there is a nice 10-ray reflex when taking pictures against the sun or against a point light source.

In contrast to many other wide angle lenses with large spherical front lenses, this 14mm lens only has a small front lens and a 52mm filter thread. 52mm screw-in filters and with a holder available as an accessory – 100mm square filters can be used. The focus and aperture setting are done manually.
