HP Omen 27u 4K Gaming Monitor for Console and PC gamers

HP introduces a new 4K 144hz monitor to the Omen line of HP gaming monitors with the Omen 27u. The new HP Omen monitor is a 4K gaming monitor that can deliver refresh rates of up to 120Hz with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles via HDMI 2.1 and up to 144Hz when connected to a PC via Display Port 1.4. The new HP 4K monitor covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

HP Omen 27u gaming monitor 4K follows that of the Omen 27c (approx. $530 on Amazon) display and the Omen 25i (approx. $300 on Amazon) introduced last year. It is designed to meet the needs of console and PC gamers. It is compatible with PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch consoles. It supports 4K console gaming at 120Hz and is certified for VESA DisplayHDR 400 support.

The Omen 27u supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) with Xbox Series X right out of the box. VRR support on the PS5 will be available pending an update from Sony. The Omen 27u also features built-in speakers, allowing gamers to quickly immerse themselves in their game without having to worry about installing separate audio equipment.

HP said the Omen 27u features an oxide IPS panel that are factory calibrated to cover 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Calibration also ensures that the color accuracy Delta E is less than 2 for accurate color reproduction. The screen offers a typical brightness of 450 nits.

On the PC side, gamers can enjoy refresh rates of up to 144Hz when connected via DisplayPort 1.4. The Omen 27u supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for tear-free visuals and promises 1ms response time in overdrive mode and 1ms moving image response time (MPRT).

HP Eye Ease with Eyesafe certification ensures that the Omen 27u is capable of reducing blue light emissions without drastic differences in color accuracy. Players can customize rear ARGB lighting through Omen Light Studio software.

The HP Omen 27u 4K 144hz monitor is available to pre-order on Amazon.com for $699.99 and will be released on May 1, 2022.
