Gigabyte brings G34WQC successor with higher contrast

The Gigabyte G34WQC (REVIEW) widescreen monitor for gaming released in 2020 has received a successor model. The G34WQC -A also relies on a 34-inch VA panel with UWQHD resolution (3440 x 1440 pixels, 21:9), 1500 R curvature, a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, and DisplayHDR 400 certification.

However, you can look forward to a better contrast ratio, as the specs say 4000:1, while the predecessor has 3000:1. Other key data of the new Gigabyte monitor include 8-bit color depth, 350 cd/m² typical brightness, 120 percent sRGB, and 90 percent DCI-P3.

FreeSync Premium is also there, so gaming can be enjoyed without annoying tearing. Alternatively, a mode against the blurring of moving images (“Aim Stabilizer”) can be used, which uses backlight strobing. On the connection side, there are two DisplayPorts 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 inputs, and a headphone output.

The Gigabyte gaming monitor comes with two integrated 2-watt speakers and, thanks to flicker-free backlighting and blue light filtering, ensures sessions that are easy on the eyes. Tilt, height adjustment, and VESA mount (100 x 100 mm) are also part of the equipment.

The Gigabyte G34WQC-A is already available in various online shops – for example, at Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, and Amazon.co.uk for $399.99. In general, be careful when buying, since the new and the old 34-inch could be mixed up in price listings. Before making a purchase, you should definitely pay attention to the “A” suffix in the model designation.
