Fujinon Premista 19-45mm T2.9 Cinema Zoom Lens now available to Pre-Order

Fujifilm officially announced the new Fujinon Premista 19-45mm T2.9 wide angle cinema zoom lens back in September 2020. At the moment, it is reported that this optic will finally go on sale on January 28, 2021. This cine lens will be the third model in the Fujinon Premista series of zoom lenses. The other two lenses in this premium line are Premista 28-100mm T2.9 and Premista 80-250mm T2.9-3.5.

The new Premista 19-45mm zoom lens has a constant T2.9 aperture throughout the focal length range. The optical design of this lens includes large diameter aspherical elements and a unique zoom system.

Also, the cine lens has a 13-blade diaphragm and a special lens coating developed by Fujifilm. It can reduce the appearance of various glare and ghosting. The developer claims that the Fujinon Premista 19-45mm T2.9 lens is designed to deliver amazing levels of edge-to-edge sharpness.

Besides, the picture obtained with the new cinema lens is virtually distortion-free even at the widest focal length, according to Fujifilm.

The Fujinon Premista 19-45mm T2.9 lens is 228mm long and weighs 3.3kg. The manufacturer reports that the lens is suitable both for handheld shooting and for installation on various professional filming devices (steadicams, cranes, and others). Provided support for “ZEISS eXtended Data”, which means the ability to record metadata while shooting.

Price and availability

The Bhphotovideo.com website has already set a price for this professional cinema lens. Its cost $49,900. However, the other two premium lenses are sold for under $40,000 each.
