Fortnite Battle Royale Matchmaking Split: Keyboard and Mouse Vs Controller

Fortnite ‘s Battle Royale matchmaking will soon split console users based on the peripheral devices used: players who rely on the keyboard and mouse will then no longer be able to clash against users who will use the controller and vice versa.

The Epic Battle Royale allows console users to use the mouse and keyboard instead of the classic controller, but the differences between the two systems are clear: the two devices used on the PC allow more precision and speed compared to what is offered from the traditional controller.

Epic Games has decided to run for cover and Nathan Mooney, community manager of the software house, announced on Reddit that soon the matchmaking will undergo changes:

“We’re actually working on some matchmaking tech, on the way, that’ll pair you against folks based on your choice of peripherals. More info on this coming next week, but tl;dr if you’re on KB+M you’ll be against KB+M.”

At the moment the changes seem to concern only the console world, however, it is possible that the Fortnite ‘s Battle Royale matchmaking functions are also introduced on mobile, dividing users who use touch controls from those who play with the controller.
