Microsoft announced the new FastStart feature for Xbox One during E3 2018. Thanks to FastStart, it allows gamers to jump into a game twice a fast while downloading the game from the store.
FastStart identifies which files are needed to begin playing and prioritizes the download of those files first, enabling you to quickly jump into full-fidelity gameplay while the remainder of your title downloads in the background, according to the Microsoft.
The feature will be made available to all users with an update that will be released in June, but those who are part of the Xbox Insider Preview channel will be able to access it from now. The update 1806.180612-1920 has already been distributed for all testers and for a small part of those enrolled in the Delta ring.
In order to work properly, the titles must support FastStart and the first wave of compatible games includes:
- The Flame in the Flood
- Fuzion Frenzy
- Screamride
- Spelunky
- Casey Powell Lacrosse 16
- Dovetail Games Euro Fishing
- The Golf Club
To be able to use FastStart without problems, since the game will continue to be downloaded in the background while the user has already started his first game, it is necessary the presence of a connection with at least 20 Mbps download speed.
