DJI Pocket 2 Gimbal Camera with 4K Video Introduced

DJI has announced a new action camera with a stabilization system – DJI Pocket 2 Gimbal Camera. This is a second-generation DJI action camera that has a weight of 117 grams, a wider lens (than the first model), and a 1/1.7 inch format sensor. In the first version, a smaller 1/2.3 inch format sensor was installed.

The new sensor works with a lens which a focal length of 20mm (equivalent) and an f/1.8 aperture. At the same time, in standard mode, the new DJI gimbal allows you to take pictures with a resolution of 16 megapixels. And in high-resolution mode – up to 64 megapixels.
As for video shooting, 4K resolution is available at up to 60fps and a bitrate of 100 Mbps. Compared to the original model, there is support for HDR and digital zoom without sacrificing quality, according to the manufacturer. In high definition mode, it is 8x. In standard mode (or when shooting Full HD video) we have 4x.

The new DJI gimbal camera comes with an improved autofocus system. The Hybrid 2.0 AF function uses a combination of contrast and phase focusing. A feature of this DJI camera is the stabilization system. The stabilizer allows you to compensate for movement in three axes. There is also support for live broadcasts and a special option to instantly enable Fast Wake.

The new DJI camera also has improved the sound recording system. The camera received four microphones and several new features. In particular, Directional Audio, SoundTrack, and Audio Zoom allow you to filter out extraneous noise and get a clean soundtrack even when the relative position of the camera and the sound source, as well as the distance between them.

The DJI Pocket 2 camera has received a number of new accessories. In particular, wide-angle lens, “Do-it-All” handle, USB splitter, tripod, wireless microphone transmitter, charging case, phone clip, and waterproof case.

The new DJI Pocket 2 camera is available to pre-order on most of the online retailers including Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, and BestBuy.com in two different bundles: The DJI Pocket 2 with Mini Control Stick and tripod mount cost $349. The DJI Pocket 2 Creator Combo Kit, which includes a Mini Control Stick, Tripod Mount, Wide Angle Lens, Wireless Microphone Windscreen, Do-it-all Handle, and Micro Tripod, costs $499.

Last week, DJI introduced new gimbals for large cameras – the DJI RS 2 and RSC 2. These models are improved versions of the DJI Ronin S and Ronin SC gimbals.
