Cubot launches a new upgraded variant of Cubot X16, named Cubot X17 in China. The Chinese company officially launched the Cubot X17 smartphone and has been priced at $170, there is no information on the global roll out yet. The Cubot X17 will be the successor of Cubot X16 that just recently goes on pre-order for $ 129.99.
The Cubot X17 features a 5.0-inch IPS JDI display, a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that can rated to deliver pixel density of 441ppi with 2.5D arc glass design on top to make it more glossy. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that can backed by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 SoC along with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. The smartphone packs a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded with the help of microSD card.
On the camera front, the Cubot X17 feature a 16-megapixel primary camera on the back with dual LED flash, 5P lens, f/2.2 aperture which can also able to record Full HD 1080p videos. It also has an 8-megapixel front shooter with super wide 88 degree lens for group selfies and video chatting.
The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop along with customized UI on top and packs a 2500mAh battery capacity out of the box. It supports dual SIM functionality, comes with 4G FDD-LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS and USB OTG as connectivity options.
